Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between coronary artery disease caused by Kawasaki disease (KD) and acute cardiovascular events in adulthood. Methods The clinical data of an 18-year-old coronary heart disease patient with a history of KD was retrospective analyzed, and the relevant literature was retrieved and summarized. Results A female patient, 18-year-old, suffered from chest pain and chest distress after exercise. Cardiac angiography revealed local wall thickening and severe lumen stenosis in the main right coronary artery. The patient had a clear history of KD at the age of 7 years, complicated with a coronary aneurysm. Conclusion KD in childhood is closely related to cardiovascular diseases in adulthood.
Key words: Kawasaki disease; coronary artery disease; unstable angina pectoris
