Journal of Clinical Pediatrics is a monthly publication, founded in 1983, ISSN 1000-3606 CN 31-1377/R. It is a pediatric academic journal sponsored by Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. This school of medicine (formerly known as Shanghai Second Medical University) is a renowned institution for training pediatric talents in China. Xinhua Hospital is the main base for pediatric training.
The journal was established with the support of Professor Gao Jinglang, a master and internationally renowned pediatric professor. The Editor-in-chief, Professor Sun Kun, an expert in congenital heart disease, currently serves as the president of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the leader of the pediatric discipline under the National Education Commission, the chairman of the 6th Asia-Pacific Pediatric Cardiology Society, and an important member of the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Physicians Association. The editorial board of the journal consists of more than 200 well-known domestic and international pediatric experts and professors.
The journal has a large circulation in China, with a wide range of authors from all over the country, including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The journal is edited according to international standards, with English copyright page, English table of contents, and English abstracts. It is included by Chinese Core Journal, Source Journal for the Chinese Science and Technology Paper Statistics (Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal), and Chinese Science Citation Database. It indexed by the Chemical Abstracts (CA, US), China Journals Network, China Academic Journals (CD-ROM), Wanfang Data - Digital Network Journals, and the Chinese Science and Technology Journals Database. The journal won the 2009 Fourth East China Outstanding Journal Award.
The journal adheres to the aim of serving the community medicine and clinical practice, integrating fundamental and advanced studies. It reports academic achievements and development trends within the field, promotes academic exchanges of pediatric medicine at home and abroad, and is devoted to children healthcare and the training of pediatric doctors in China. The journal is managed by experts and the editorial board. The focus of publishing is new concepts, new achievements, new methods, new technologies, and mature, practical clinical practices and experience summaries in the field of pediatric medicine.
