Research progress on the effect of cytomegalovirus infection on lipid metabolism

Abstract: Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) has a higher prevalence in the population, and most normal individuals after primary infection can establish latent infections. Recent reports have suggested that cytomegalovirus infection associated with lipid metabolism, and play an important role in the pathogenesis of many diseases, such as hepatitis, atherosclerosis, isolated syndrome, metabolic syndrome, etc. This article summarized the relationship between cytomegalovirus infection and lipid metabolism, as well as its role in a variety of diseases progression.
