Abstract: Infantile spasms (IS) is an age dependent epileptic encephalopathy in early infancy. Early diagnosis and treatment (within 4 weeks of onset) are beneficial to the termination of seizures and long-term cognitive protection. This paper reviewed the related literatures in the treatment of infantile spasms, mainly including the first-line and second-line drugs, the ketogenic diet and surgical treatment, to discuss the recent advances in the treatment of infantile spasms.
