Abstract: In recent years, heated humidified high-flow nasal cannulae (HFNC) devices have become a popular method of non-invasive respiratory support in the neonatal intensive care units. However, the relevant evidence supporting its clinical safety has not been fully established so far. This article reviews the factors affecting the safe use of HFNC and the related complications, so as to provide reference for clinical application.
