Key words: Hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis (HTGP) is an acute pancreatitis induced by abnormally elevated triglycerides. It is susceptible to severe illness and recurrent episodes of acute pancreatitis. HTGP is rare in children, and has its own characteristics in etiology and treatment. This article elucidates the abnormal lipid metabolism, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of HTGP in children.
